BrewingNewsUpdate

June 10, 2021

Considering our previous post was almost six months ago, we figured it was high time for an update folks!  Last time we posted, it was about How it Started, How it’s Going. Well, the “started” part obviously hasn’t changed, but the “going” part has. Permit-wise, we have applied for our Federal Brewer’s Permit with the TTB, and we are just about ready to send in the litany of paperwork to the state for the Class 5 and Class 7 licenses to manufacture and self-distribute our beer. We have applied with BGE to upgrade the power in the building to accommodate our 7 barrel brewhouse, HVAC, chiller and everything else to keep you, our potential customers, happy, comfortable, and thirst-quenched. We have our initial architectural drawings and have been working with several different contractors and vendors to complete the build-out. Beer-wise, we have been brewing on our small pilot system about once per week, and with the inability to sell any of it, we’ve been drinking a lot too. While our anticipated opening date has become a bit of a moving target, we just wanted to post a quick note on progress to let everyone know we’re still here and plugging away at the necessities to get open as soon as possible. This part of the journey has been exciting, eye-opening, rewarding, and frustrating all at the same time. We hope you’re out there enjoying the late-spring weather and drinking on some of the fantastic craft beer Maryland breweries have to offer. Until next time…
